Inside the Magic Methods shop
Our Story

He grew up packing these catalogs. Now he runs the shop.

Magic Methods was founded in 1969 by Jerry Mentzer, one of the most published names in close-up magic. Back when the catalog was printed on paper, a young magician named Eddy Wade earned his pocket money helping Jerry manufacture and package the very effects on these shelves, and spent his summers beside him at magic conventions, demonstrating tricks at the dealer table.

Jerry was Eddy's mentor and friend. Today Eddy carries the shop forward from Mount Holly, North Carolina, publishing Jerry's books, manufacturing his effects, and answering the phone the way Jerry always did, one magician to another.

Do you really stock everything on the site?

Yes. Unlike many suppliers, everything advertised on our website lives in our warehouse. That's why most orders ship the same day we receive them.

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship the same day. The only exceptions are when we're on the road performing, attending a magic convention, or it's Sunday. Free U.S. continental shipping on orders over $85, with some exclusions for oversized and fragile items.

I'm new to magic. Where do I start?

Call or email us. Tell us who you want to amaze and how much practice you're up for, and we'll point you to something you can actually perform, not just buy. Honest advice from a working magician, every time.

Can I visit the shop in person?

Yes, our Mount Holly, NC showroom is open by advance appointment. Call (704) 756-5321 or email [email protected] to set up a time, see the products in person, and catch a live demonstration.
