Who I serve

This is for you if

  1. 01 You’ve built a real business. Revenue is steady, but the strategy is scattered and nothing’s built to hold it together.
  2. 02 You’ve worked with marketers and agencies before. The deliverables came. The thinking didn’t.
  3. 03 You’re the one holding the whole thing together. It all runs through you, and you know that isn’t sustainable.
  4. 04 You’re building something that matters, and you want one partner who can hear what’s underneath the brief and then actually build it.
  5. 05 You’re ready to stop translating yourself to people who don’t quite get it.

Real Results & Real Stories

People I’ve built with.

They built an entire business ecosystem for me, not just a website. They created automation campaigns that brought my database back to life, built funnels for recruiting and clients, and made everything plug-and-play. I used to spend hours doing admin work, now it’s all automated. Website: 10. Creativity: 10. Backend systems: 10. They’re incredible to work with and worth every penny.

the strategic & the sacred

Hi, I’m Melanie.

You’ve built something real. Your clients trust you, your team believes in the vision, and the work is good. But you’re the one holding the whole thing together, and nothing was built to hold it but you.

That’s the part I love. For 18+ years I’ve helped mission-driven founders find the clear version of what they already have, then build the brand, the website, and the systems that make it real.

Most fractional CMOs only think. I think and build. Strategy and execution, in one partner.

Let’s bring it into form.

How I work

Three ways to work together.

Every engagement starts with a conversation. The right structure depends on where the business is, what’s in place already, and what the next chapter asks for.

By the Day

A Creative Day

A creative day, fully embedded. We take one focused thing and move it all the way forward in a single sitting. Strategy, brand, copy, or build, whatever the day calls for. For when you need momentum, not a long engagement.

Cadence One focused day
Best for A clear, contained push
By the Project

A Defined Build

Fixed scope, clear deliverable, a start and a finish. A brand, a website, a funnel, a full system. We define what done looks like up front, then I build it. For when you know what you need made.

Cadence Scoped to the work
Best for A defined deliverable
On Retainer

Fractional Leadership

Ongoing senior leadership for the marketing. I hold the strategy, lead the brand and build, and carry the thread month to month. Want the thinking without the full build? The same retainer scales down to strategic advisory, where I bring the frame and you bring the execution.

Cadence Monthly, ongoing
Best for Established, growing businesses

Not sure which fits? That’s what the call is for.

The Solaris Method

Five elements. One integrated practice.

Every engagement moves through the same five elements. This is the framework I use to take a business from a hazy picture to a clear, expressed, working whole.

Clarity first. We get clear on what the business actually is, who it serves, and where it's going. Strategy before anything gets built, so every decision after this one has a frame to stand inside of.

Essence and identity. The voice, the visual language, the way the work feels when someone meets it. We bring the soul of the business into form so people recognize it the moment they see it.

What gets sold. Priced, positioned, and communicated so the right people say yes and the wrong people self-select out. The offer is where the business meets the bank account.

Active marketing. Posts, content, channels, ads. The way the brand reaches the people it's meant to serve, consistently and on purpose, instead of waiting to be found.

The technology that carries everything. Website, CRM, automations, integrations, the whole stack. Built and connected so the system actually runs without the founder pushing it forward every day.

The Solaris Sessions

The strategic and the sacred.

Sacred geometry and biomimicry, applied to business.
One pattern, read three ways.

Questions, answered.

What does a fractional CMO do?+

A fractional CMO is a senior marketing leader who joins your business part time, holding the strategy, the brand, and the marketing systems the way a full time CMO would, without the full time salary. You get executive-level thinking at a fraction of the cost and the hours.

Most fractional CMOs stop at the thinking. I think and build. The strategy, the brand, the website, the automations, one partner carrying the whole thread, so nothing gets lost between the plan and the execution.

How much does a fractional CMO cost?+

Most fractional CMOs charge somewhere between $3,000 and $12,000 a month, depending on how much of the marketing they hold. The range is wide because the role scales, from a few hours of strategic advisory to fully leading the whole function.

I work three ways: a Creative Day for one focused push, a Defined Build with a fixed scope and a clear finish, and Fractional Leadership on monthly retainer. Each is priced to its shape, and the discovery call is where we find which one your business is actually asking for. You leave that call with clarity either way.

What's the difference between a fractional CMO and a marketing agency?+

An agency sells deliverables. A fractional CMO owns outcomes. When you hire an agency, you usually still have to be the strategist, feeding them direction and hoping the pieces add up. A fractional CMO sits on your side of the table, holds the whole picture, and is accountable for whether the marketing actually works.

Many of my clients come to me after agencies. The deliverables came, the thinking didn't. That gap is exactly the job.

How does a fractional CMO apply biomimicry to a business?+

Biomimicry just means building systems that mirror how nature already works. And nature has been running the longest R&D lab on earth, 3.8 billion years of testing what survives and what wastes energy, so when a pattern lasts that long, it lasts because it gets results with the least effort.

Applied to a business, it looks like this: honeycomb thinking builds offers and systems with maximum strength and minimum waste. Root system thinking builds the unseen foundations, the finances, the automations, the handoffs, so the visible growth actually holds. Mycelium thinking builds referral networks that feed you before you need them.

What my clients feel is not more nature metaphors in their meetings. It's simpler. Fewer moving pieces, clearer decisions, a business that runs without every thread passing through them, and better numbers because nothing is leaking energy. The sacred part is real and I never hide it. But the reason established founders hire me is that the systems work, and their life gets easier while the results get bigger.

What is biomimicry in business, in plain terms?+

Biomimicry means solving problems by borrowing designs nature already tested. It is an established field, not a metaphor. Engineers reshaped Japan's bullet train after the kingfisher's beak. Velcro came from a burr caught in a dog's fur. Nature has run billions of years of trial and error, and what survived is what worked.

In business, it means building your systems to mirror those proven patterns. Growth that spirals and returns to center instead of sprinting in a straight line. Networks that feed before they extract. Foundations as deep as the ambition above them. Nothing about it requires you to be spiritual. It requires you to want systems that hold.

What is the Solaris Method?+

Solaris Method is the practice of Melanie Fisher, a fractional CMO and creative director who applies the patterns of nature and sacred geometry to make businesses simple, clear, and whole.

Every engagement moves through five elements: the Plan, the Brand, the Offer, the Signal, and the Tech, taking a business from a hazy picture to a clear, expressed, working whole. The name means pathway to the sun.

Why does everything in my business run through me?+

Because your business grew around you the way an ecosystem grows around a keystone species, and no one ever decided it should. In nature, a keystone is the one presence holding the whole system together, and when everything depends on a single node, the system looks stable right up until that node is exhausted.

It is not a character flaw and it is not poor discipline. It is a structural pattern, and structural patterns have structural answers: containers, handoffs, and systems built so the weight is held by the web instead of by you.

How do I build a business that doesn't depend on me for everything?+

Start below the surface. A tree's roots run as wide as its canopy, and businesses topple when the visible growth outruns the invisible infrastructure. So the order matters: document what only you know, automate what repeats, hand off what is documented, and only then add more growth on top.

That is most of what I actually build for clients. Not more marketing on a shaky base, but the root system underneath it, the CRM, the automations, the brand clarity, so the business holds its own weight, and you get your life back while the results improve.

When is a business ready for a fractional CMO?+

When the business is real and you are the thing holding it together. Steady revenue, work that is genuinely good, and a strategy that lives mostly in your head, scattered across tools and half-built systems. That is the moment. Before then, you likely need execution help, not senior leadership.

If that describes you, the discovery call takes thirty minutes, and you leave knowing what to build first, whether or not we work together.

Let's find out which one is running you

In a free 30-minute call, we'll:

  • Talk through where the business is and what it's asking for
  • Find the center that's carrying more than its share
  • Name what has to get built so it stops running through you

If we're a fit, we'll talk through what working together looks like.
If not, you'll leave knowing exactly what to build first.
